The cover head is in Pastel, pastel pencils and rubbed with paper stump and fingers on cold press illustration board but it can just as well be on charcoal paper or pastel paper, or try it in oils or watercolors if you so desire.

Do not limit yourself but try until you find the material that suits you best. At first your drawing is the most important. For this all you need is pencil, paper, eraser and lots and lots of practice. This is the most satisfying because a spoiled drawing is of little consequence and you start another and another. There are other books in my series that will be of great help such as “ How to do Pastels” How to Paint in Water Colors as well as Oil Painting.
