I learned about EFT through the tappingsolution.com a few years ago from Jessica Ortner while I lived in Europe. They hold a free World Tapping Summit every year. I joined in and found that it really helped the children and I deal with disagreements and stress. I also started learning about Energy Medicine, at the same time, which I will get into in the next blog article.

So what is EFT? It is an Emotional Freedom Technique used in order to help people reduce emotions and physical pain. It is actually so easy that you and your children can use as a self-help resource right now.

Using EFT on Children:

I use tapping on and with my children. There are always times when an emotional outbreak happens or we experience a painful trauma. Having EFT as a tool in your handbag is so helpful. I find that my children now, with no hesitation, use this technique when it is needed. They learned the points and now can tap by themselves, it is that easy!

There are countless times that we have had traumatic accidents happen. When we lived in Germany, I bought my kids longboards to get to school. The neighbor had two jack Russell's that loved going on a walk. Well the boys went out with the dogs and had them pulling them down the road. Somehow, my boy managed to fall off of his board and break his tooth out. A woman rushed him to the ambulance and sent him on his way, all by himself to the hospital. She then came to my house and I rode with her to the not-so-close hospital, where I met him all scratched up and bloody. His tooth was very much damaged and he was in pain. I immediately started tapping on him to reduce his anxiety and pain levels. We did a few rounds of tapping and within minutes he was relaxed and dealing much better with the pain.

Evie has had a phobia of spiders since about the age of 2. She somehow uses the law of attraction to get these critters to bite her. I have never seen anyone get bitten as much as she does. We have not lived anywhere that there are poisonous or deadly spiders, (thank god!) She had nightmares and terrors of spiders for literally years. Then I found this technique and EFT has since helped her reduce the emotions associated with spiders. I am not a professional, and this fear of spiders has never really gone away. I believe it is associated with a past life trauma. She is still young and not quite able to do a past life regression with me yet. She also does not have the desire at this time to “work with someone else on these emotions” so I have yet to see the phobia disappear as of now. I will say however, that she will wake up in a sweat, and throw on the light to look under her pillow for a spider, thinking there was one there, and we have tapped through the anxiety which brought her instant relief enough to go back to sleep.

Migraines:
I have chronic migraines and sometimes they come in clusters that knock me out for days at a time. I have been successful in reducing the pain and sometimes relieving the migraines altogether by using EFT.

You can use EFT in any of these areas of life and more....

Financial situations, weight loss, confidence, anxiety etc.. you can use EFT in any area of life that you find yourself getting into as a human.

EFT is relatively new to most of us, therefore we must remind ourselves to use this technique. It is easy to learn and apply, the key point is to USE it. Keep using it over and over again. It gets easier and easier, all the while, helping us out on deep levels where healing occurs.

Here’s a little Tapping script to clear some of that resistance and those old habits. Try it now and see how it affects your week.

On a scale of 1-10 rate how you are feeling, 10 being the worst and 1 the least, so that you have a range and can see how effective this technique is and how quickly you can feel a change. Do a few rounds and watch your number decrease along with all worries.

You can use this for pain, anxiety, fear, depression, weight loss, etc… just substitute the words into the text provided by Nick.

Karate Chop: Even though I haven’t been using Tapping as much as I could, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Karate Chop: Even though I could have made my life easier by using Tapping on (fill in the blank of a recent time when you might have used it), I choose to relax and forgive myself now.
Karate Chop: Even though I’m not used to turning to Tapping to solve my problems, I choose to start using it. I choose to become more resourceful, and to remember to use this powerful tool!

Eyebrow: I haven’t been tapping
Side of the Eye: Why not?
Under the Eye: Am I sabotaging myself?
Under the Nose: Maybe…
Under the Mouth: Or maybe I just forgot
Collarbone: Maybe I’m just not used to doing this
Under the Arm: But I can start using it now
Top of the Head: I’m tapping now!

Eyebrow: And that’s great
Side of the Eye: I choose to remember
Under the Eye: To tap!
Under the Nose: I choose to develop this positive habit
Under the Mouth: That can help me so much
Collarbone: It will make my life easier
Under the Arm: And that’s a choice I want to make
Top of the Head: I choose to tap when I most need it

Take a deep breath…

And let it go… Repeat a few times, or focus in on anything that came up while doing those short rounds.
